International Chess Pawn

In international chess, the pawn is the most numerous and modest piece, yet it carries immense strategic importance. Pawns are placed on the second rank at the beginning of the game, serving as the vanguard of each player’s position. Each pawn moves forward one square at a time, with the option to advance two squares on its first move. Though seemingly limited, they control critical spaces on the board and often determine the flow of battle.
