Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity, revered by Christians as the Son of God and the Messiah whose life and teachings form the foundation of the Christian faith. Born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth, Jesus preached throughout Roman Judea and Galilee, teaching about love, forgiveness, compassion, repentance, and the Kingdom of God. The New Testament describes him healing the sick, performing miracles, gathering disciples, and reaching out to people who were marginalized by society.

According to the Christian faith, Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem under the Roman governor Pontius Pilate and rose from the dead on the third day, an event celebrated at Easter and regarded as central to Christian salvation. Beyond Christianity, Jesus is also an enormously influential historical and religious figure, respected in Islam as a prophet and Messiah and studied worldwide for the lasting impact of his teachings on religion, ethics, culture, art, and history.
