Nut

Nut (pronounced as Newt), the goddess of the sky in ancient Egyptian mythology, is one of the most majestic and awe-inspiring deities of the pantheon. She is often depicted as a vast celestial woman arching over the earth god Geb, her body adorned with stars and the Milky Way flowing across her form. As the personification of the heavens, Nut separated the sky from the earth, creating balance and order in the cosmos.

Every night, she swallowed the sun god Ra, carrying him through her starry body, and at dawn, she gave birth to him again—symbolizing the eternal cycle of death and rebirth. Her presence embodies both nurturing protection and infinite mystery. The ancient Egyptians looked to Nut as the guardian of the dead, who sheltered souls beneath her celestial canopy.
