Romance of the Three Kingdoms Zhang Jiao

Zhang Jiao (Zhang Jue), the self-proclaimed "Great Teacher," was the charismatic founder of the Yellow Turban Rebellion and one of the most influential figures at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty. A healer, mystic, and leader of the Way of Supreme Peace (Taiping Dao), he inspired countless impoverished peasants with promises of equality and a new age, rallying them under the famous slogan: "The Azure Heaven is dead; the Yellow Heaven shall rise."

In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhang Jiao is portrayed as a sorcerer capable of summoning storms and wielding mystical powers, making him both a religious prophet and a formidable enemy of the Han Empire. Though his rebellion was ultimately crushed after his death, it shattered the authority of the Han court and ignited the chain of events that led to the Three Kingdoms era, cementing Zhang Jiao as one of the most iconic revolutionaries in Chinese history.
