As a vassal lord under the Shang dynasty, he was renowned for his wisdom, military might, and strong sense of justice. His story begins when he openly defies King Zhou after the tyrant erects a temple to Daji, an act Su Hu finds sacrilegious and disgraceful.

His refusal to obey sparks a rebellion, marking him as one of the earliest figures to stand against the king’s cruelty. Despite his loyalty to the realm, his allegiance is to righteousness, not tyranny. His sense of duty and dignity earns him respect even among his enemies.
