Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty stands proudly in New York Harbor as one of the most enduring symbols of freedom and hope in the world. Gifted by France to the United States in 1886, this colossal neoclassical statue was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, with its internal structure engineered by Gustave Eiffel.

The figure of Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty, holds a torch high in her right hand, lighting the way to freedom.
