Water Margin Song Wan

Song Wan, nicknamed the "Cloud-Touching Tree" (摸着天), was one of the earliest leaders of Liangshan Marsh in Water Margin. Before the arrival of Chao Gai and Song Jiang, he served as one of the trusted chiefs under Wang Lun, helping establish the bandit stronghold that would later become famous throughout the empire. Though not renowned for exceptional martial prowess, Song Wan was respected for his steadfast loyalty and dependable nature.

Unlike many of Liangshan's more flamboyant heroes, Song Wan was a humble and reliable veteran who faithfully supported the brotherhood through its rise to power. He participated in numerous campaigns after the outlaws accepted imperial amnesty, standing alongside his fellow heroes in battle. While often overshadowed by the marsh's legendary warriors, Song Wan remains remembered as one of the foundation stones of Liangshan—a loyal pioneer whose dedication helped build the stronghold from its earliest days.
