Zhou Tai

Zhou Tai was a loyal and courageous general who served the warlord Sun Quan during the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. Originally a subordinate of Sun Ce, Zhou Tai gained recognition through his bravery in numerous battles, particularly during campaigns to secure and stabilize Jiangdong. He was known for his fearlessness in combat, often placing himself in harm’s way to protect his lord—most famously when he shielded Sun Quan from overwhelming enemy forces, sustaining multiple serious wounds in the process. His scars became marks of honor, and his steadfast loyalty earned him deep trust and admiration from the Sun family. Later, Sun Quan personally appointed Zhou Tai as the commander of Ruxu, a strategic fortress along the Yangtze River. Despite his reserved nature, Zhou Tai’s silent strength made him one of the most respected officers in the Wu kingdom.
