The Witch-king of Angmar, also known as the Lord of the Nazgûl, was the chief of the Nazgûl and Sauron's deadliest vassal during the Second and Third Ages of Middle-earth. He was once a mighty sorcerer and king of the North, but he was corrupted by Sauron's One Ring and became a wraith, bound to Sauron's will.

The Witch-king was a terrifying figure, even to the bravest of warriors. He was tall and imposing, with a long black cloak and a crown of steel. His face was hidden in shadow, but his eyes glowed with a deadly red light. He was a skilled swordsman and sorcerer, and he could ride to war on a Fell Beast, a winged creature of terror.
