Romance of the Three Kingdoms Yu Ji

Yu Ji (于吉) is a legendary Taoist spiritual master who appears in Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sanguo Yanyi). Renowned for his mystical abilities, religious teachings, and reputation for performing miracles, he is portrayed as a mysterious figure capable of healing the sick and attracting devoted followers through his spiritual influence. His presence becomes a source of great suspicion and hostility for Sun Ce, the formidable warlord of Eastern Wu, who regards Yu Ji's growing popularity as a threat to his authority.

One of the novel's most memorable supernatural episodes occurs when Sun Ce orders Yu Ji's execution, accusing him of practising sorcery and undermining military discipline. However, Yu Ji's spirit is said to return and haunt Sun Ce, contributing to the warlord's tragic downfall. For fans of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Yu Ji represents the mysterious intersection of Taoist mysticism, supernatural folklore, and political ambition, adding an eerie dimension to the otherwise war-filled narrative.
