Romance of the Three Kingdoms Zhang Jue

Zhang Jue, also known as Zhang Jiao, was the charismatic leader of the Yellow Turban Rebellion that shook the late Eastern Han dynasty. A self-proclaimed “Great Teacher” and master of Taoist healing arts, he preached the doctrine of the “Way of Peace.” He promised salvation to the oppressed, claiming that the blue heavens of the Han would fall and the yellow heavens would rise.

His teachings spread like wildfire among peasants burdened by corruption, famine, and heavy taxation. Under his banner, millions joined the Yellow Turban Army, sparking one of the largest uprisings in Chinese history. His rebellion marked the beginning of the Han dynasty’s decline.
